What a rollercoaster! On Sunday, February 1, 2026, the Delhi Capitals (DC) faced the UP Warriorz (UPW) in a match that decided the fate of the playoffs. It was a low-scoring thriller that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the very last over!

By the end of the night, Delhi secured their spot in the Eliminator, while the UP Warriorz sadly saw their tournament journey come to an end.

The Delhi Bowlers Dominate

Delhi won the toss and chose to bowl first—and boy, did it pay off! They came out like a whirlwind, putting the Warriorz under pressure from ball one.

  • The Early Shock: UP Warriorz lost their captain, Meg Lanning, on the very first ball of the match!

  • Marizanne Kapp’s Magic: She was the star with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 30 runs, removing heavy hitters like Deandra Dottin.

  • The Struggle: UPW found it hard to build partnerships. A late fight by Shikha Pandey helped them reach a total of 122/8.

The Chase: A Tense Finish

Chasing 123 sounds easy, but the pitch was tricky and the Warriorz didn't give up without a fight.

  • The Anchor: Laura Wolvaardt played a super steady innings, scoring 47 runs off 36 balls. She was the glue that held the Delhi innings together.

  • The Twist: Just when Delhi looked comfortable, they lost a few quick wickets. The crowd was biting their nails as the game slowed down.

  • The Finish: Jemimah Rodrigues and Niki Prasad stayed calm under pressure, guiding Delhi to 126/5 and winning with 8 balls to spare.

Why This Match Was Huge

  1. Eliminator Bound: This win officially sent the Delhi Capitals into the Eliminator! They will now face the Mumbai Indians for a chance to go to the Final.

  2. End of the Road for UPW: With this loss, the Warriorz finish at the bottom of the table this year.

  3. Player of the Match: Marizanne Kapp took the trophy for her game-changing opening spell that broke the back of the UPW batting line-up.

"It wasn't our best batting day, but our bowlers were incredible. We are happy to keep our title hopes alive!" — Jemimah Rodrigues, DC Captain.
